Book 2 in a Steampunk Fantasy Trilogy
The trilogy of The Chronicles of the Charon, continue in this steampunk fantasy world, when doppelgangers start appearing in Oxford, Union Jack agents Ignatius and Indigo find themselves on another cosmic quest, one they didn’t set out to investigate. Drawn into the search for the elusive and dangerous Book of Shadows, they find themselves traveling across the cosmos once again, racing against other versions of themselves, and visiting the Oracle to be given prophecies of terrible destruction that will engulf the cosmos in darkness. Only these two heroes, or their doubles, can open the book, which would lead to dreadful consequences for themselves, the world and the whole of creation. The agents must outwit their own mirror souls and invade the impregnable Administorium, which holds the answers they need but also fearsome enemies of both the Union Jacks and the entire cosmos. In this quest, Ignatius and Indigo must protect not only England and the Empire, but the world and the cosmos. Aligning with Vedic sound cosmology, where the cosmos is built on vibrational energy and consciousness, every being exists in multiple versions across realities. Time is nonlinear and fractured, causing glitches, loops, déjà vu, and overlapping realities. Ignatius and Indigo meet their mirror selves. Always a bad omen. Continuing their adventure, the two Union Jacks learn the price of knowledge. What is the price of knowledge and agency in a god-haunted cosmos?
Calling on the Charon for assistance once more, the two agents learn the dreadful truth about the merciless immortals. The city of Oxford, the Empire and the cosmos will never be the same again. The struggle for survival is real and too big for any mortal to comprehend. Alongside this, whilst not overtly romantic, there is tension—especially in moments of vulnerability and care. Indigo’s reluctance to show weakness and Ignatius’s protectiveness create emotional resonance. Shadowslayers is a metaphysical science-fantasy journey that weaves together all there is to know about the heavens and our place in it.
Shadowslayers Reviews and Virtual Book Tour
“Colin Sephton’s Shadowslayers, From the Chronicles of the Charon pushes deeper into the saga he began in Timeslayers, expanding the collision of cosmic fantasy and steampunk imagination. Where the first book balanced myth with the engines of empire, Shadowslayers sharpens the stakes: reality itself has splintered”

“Shadowslayers cements Colin Sephton’s saga as one of the most original blends of fantasy and steampunk in recent years….. Because in Sephton’s universe, shadows do not vanish when defeated. They multiply. And the choice of whether light can survive belongs, as always, to us”

“Through this enigmatic tome, Colin Sephton gives us more than an artefact of fantasy. He offers a cautionary tale about the pursuit of secrets too heavy to bear. Books can illuminate, but they can also devour. And in a fractured world where shadows multiply, even a single page may change everything”
